Hi John,

Great tips there, but being ruthless is quite difficult I find… I did a big decluttering session a few months ago but my flat now looks like it never happened, which is annoying and makes me feel like I need bigger storage, bigger room, bigger flat etc
However, with the prospect of another spring-clean very soon, I have decided to be equally as ruthless, but since that wasn’t enough last time, I am also going to take up a small storage unit where I work (at Big Yellow) and store my out-of-season clothes and equipment. Then at last, I hope I will be able to breathe again in my own flat without having to see anymore of those vacuum storage bags wherever I look!
So if anybody else is in my situation, check us out, it’s liberating bigyellow.co.uk

Thank you for your insight. I have a silk on silk carpet from Kashmir that I love. I am just curious about the proper treatment. Should I vacuum it often? How often do you need to wash luxury rugs?
